Well it’s been a cracking start to the year at Young Folks. We’re all about setting big goals and chasing them with determination and discipline. And ooofttt, it was a joy to write this summary on 31 January and reflect on how much of our 2024 strategic plan we’ve already achieved along with all the exciting things to come. Here’s the scoop on what’s been happening in the Young Folks studio in January.
Moving on up
Please tell me you read that headline to this tune? Because it’s the perfect soundtrack to accompany the news that our digital marketing strategist Taylah has been promoted to account director. Yew! She levelled up in every way in 2023, by taking advantage of her individual professional development budget to complete the Advertising Council of Australia’s Advanced Account Management course, knocking results out of the park for clients, and achieving all of her KPIs and then some. We are lucky to have her (and so are her clients).
Another promotion in the team this January is our marketing assistant Julia stepping up to marketing coordinator. Julia has been kicking goals with content writing and SEO and has big plans to level up in all aspects of marketing. Lucky us!
Hello, Melbourne
We’ve just signed the lease on our brand new digs in Melbourne in the agency-favourite enclave of Cremorne. We’re adding our name to a long list of world-changing brands that call The Commons home. The best bit? The new studio is just a train ride away from our current Mornington Peninsula base in Frankston (big yes to using PT as a more sustainable mode of travel).
Marketing agency no more
Over the past five years we’ve built up a pretty stellar reputation for being the digital marketing agency for purpose-driven brands. But we always knew we were capable of more than marketing alone.
Following extensive strategic planning and some very intentional recruitment in 2023, this year we officially kicked off gear shift from marketing agency to full service agency. And in the process, we said ‘seeya’ to @youngfolksdigital and a big hello to @youngfolksagency. Nothing says brand evolution like a social media handle change, right?
If your brand is radically better for the world, you can now turn to Young Folks for strategy, creative, content and performance marketing. Keep your eyes peeled for our brand refresh (you might have noticed it’s already started) and a new website coming soon.
We’re turning five
This year marks five years since Erin signed on the line to officially make Young Folks a company. How time flies! What started as a teeny weeny little team of two in Mornington has expanded to a team of 10 (and still growing) across two locations. We’ve got some BHAGs (big hairy audacious goals) in place for our fifth lap around the sun and are already getting stuck into achieving them. Plus planning a fifth birthday party is pretty fun when you’ve got a rooftop in Cremorne with city views at your disposal.
We created a positive impact card deck
Over December and January, we’ve been busy working on copy, design, and sustainable printing and packaging for our Positive Impact Card Deck. Guided by our mission to use business as a force for good, and crafted with the spirit of activism, these cards offer insights and inspiration to make 2024 a year of positive impact.
