Studio news: November recap

An exciting pitching trip, making it to the Smart50 list, and a big brand campaign shoot — here’s everything that happened at Young Folks in November.

We’ve officially entered the silliest of seasons, and the pace here at Young Folks has only picked up as the team finishes a bunch of projects before clocking off for a well-deserved holiday break.

So, what did we get up to in November? We welcomed a flock of new clients, headed to the surf coast for our biggest agency pitch yet, attended the Smart Company Awards, and made it onto the Smart50 list (plus much, much more!).

Here’s everything that happened at Young Folks in November.

We’re on the Smart50 list

The Smart50 list showcases the fastest growing SMEs in Australia over the last three financial years, and we’re happy to share that you can spot Young Folks on this year’s list. That’s pretty big for an indie agency like us.

We were also nominated for awards in the Marketing and People Power categories —  two areas we’re proud to excel in here at Young Folks. We were in great company amongst so many impressive brands — congratulations to this year’s winners.

While it isn’t all about the accolades and awards, we were pretty chuffed to see the brilliant work of the whole Young Folks team acknowledged and celebrated.

A pitching trip to the coast

It’s not often you get to take a ferry trip to the surf coast and call it work. While we can’t spill too much about this yet, Erin and Taylah crossed the bay last month to pitch for one of our all-time dream clients.

If you can’t tell from the photo, they were a bit excited.

We spent a day on set

Did you know that since we’re a full-service agency, we now also offer brand campaign services? We’ve been working on a big brand campaign project for one of our clients, covering everything from creative concepts to post-production. Adele, Sanam, and Luke spent a day at the shoot earlier this month helping with art and talent direction.

We can’t wait to share the final campaign.

Enjoying a rooftop boogie with Spotify and the Commons

The Commons knows how to throw a party. So when we heard our Cremorne office mates Spotify were involved, you bet we were going to show up. Our team spent a sunny Friday evening at the Spotify Rooftop Session, enjoying drinks by Tommy’s and Four Pillars, pizzas by Freddy’s, and good tunes and vibes by Spotify.

Welcome to our new clients

This month, we’ve got another round of new clients we’re stoked to introduce. They include:

  • TechForGood, a B Corp certified carbon-efficient technology shop. We’re helping them with a paid media and content strategy.
  • The Equality Institute, a global feminist agency working to advance gender equality and end violence against women. They’re joining us for a social media retainer.
  • Australia Post, a brand that likely needs no introduction. We’re helping them with a content consolidation project for their e-learning resources.
  • Thermotek, Australia’s leading manufacturer of energy-efficient windows and doors. We’re working on a content and performance marketing strategy for them.
  • EarthWize, a Melbourne-based sustainable cleaning company. We’re developing a content and SEO strategy as well as design masters for them.
  • Kilvington Grammar first joined us for a project, and they’re now continuing with a paid media retainer.

And that’s it for November — just a couple more weeks to go until we hit the finish line. If you’ve got big plans for 2025 and need help levelling up your brand identity, launching a campaign, or working on a new strategy, reach out to see how we can help you get there.
