Established in 1999, Rainforest Rescue is a not-for-profit organisation that protects and restores rainforests. A large part of this important work is achieved through the Rainforest Rescue buy-back program through which more than 150 hectares of Australian rainforest – mostly zoned for development – has been purchased for preservation.
The challenge
Raising awareness about the urgent need to protect rainforests is crucial, as these fragile ecosystems play a critical role in combating climate change, storing 30 percent of the world’s CO2 emissions. Rainforest Rescue needed to effectively communicate this message and engage a wide audience to support their mission.
The solution
We provided comprehensive campaign strategy for Rainforest Rescue’s collaborative effort with BioPak, aptly named Voices For The Rainforest. Our process began with a discovery session with the client and BioPak to build out the campaign narrative and define clear goals and objectives. We developed key messages for the campaign, which informed the creative direction and ensured consistency across all materials.
The campaign featured 18 global influencers who lent their creative designs and heartfelt messages, which were published on compostable BioPak Art Series cups. We mapped out the channels and tailored the messaging and creative to suit each platform, ensuring maximum resonance with diverse audience segments. Additionally, we provided a prioritized implementation roadmap for BioPak and Rainforest Rescue to follow when launching and running the campaign. This roadmap included detailed steps for content distribution, timing, and engagement tactics to ensure the campaign’s success.
By leveraging the voices of global influencers and a strategic campaign approach, we helped Rainforest Rescue and BioPak creatively and effectively raise awareness for rainforest protection and preservation.
The Voices For The Rainforest campaign was designed to highlight the urgent need to protect rainforests, the lungs of our planet. Influencers from various fields, including athletes, fashion designers, and artists, contributed their artwork and messages to the campaign, which were featured on BioPak’s compostable cups. These cups were circulated globally, connecting end consumers with personal messages from the influencers, and directing them to a fundraiser page to support Rainforest Rescue’s efforts.
The impact of the campaign was significant. By leveraging the influence of high-profile ambassadors, the campaign successfully raised awareness about the critical role of rainforests in fighting climate change. The creative designs and heartfelt messages resonated with a global audience, driving donations and support for Rainforest Rescue’s mission. The campaign not only elevated the profiles of Rainforest Rescue and BioPak but also demonstrated the power of collaboration and creative storytelling in driving environmental advocacy.
