Our Philosophy

We’re living through an era of fairly colossal change, and we reckon the brands that thrive aren’t clinging to what worked five years ago.

They’re paying attention to what’s working now, where the value is, what their customers actually want, and how their brand, offer and marketing can work harder together. At the same time, they’re looking ahead with enough curiosity to spot what’s changing and enough imagination to decide what they might do about it.

That’s our Now & Next philosophy: make the most of today, while building towards what's next.

And we care which brands get there. We’re here for the visionaries, disruptors, game changers and rule breakers. The ones building something useful, pushing things forward, and leaving the world a little (or a lot) better than they found it. We want the good ones to win.

Our Impact

Responsibility isn’t an afterthought around here. Doing good is part of the deal.

We’re a Certified B Corp, which keeps us accountable to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability, while giving us plenty to keep working on too.

We give 1% of our revenue through 1% for the Planet and 5% of our time pro bono to emerging charities and grassroots organisations.

Through Comms Declare and Clean Creatives, we’ve also drawn a firm line around fossil-fuel work, and our involvement with ACON’s Welcome Here Project is part of our commitment to making Young Folks a safe and welcoming place for LGBTIQA+ communities.

Every business makes an impact, whether it has a grand impact strategy or not. Ours comes down to the choices we make every day — where our money goes, who we work with, how we treat people and what we contribute along the way. We’re still learning, still improving and pretty committed to leaving things better than we found them.

FAQ.

What kind of work do you do?

We work across strategy, branding and marketing, helping businesses get clear on where they’re going, how they should show up and what’s going to move them forward. That can mean brand strategy, naming, visual and verbal identity, websites, marketing strategy, campaigns, content, paid media and ongoing support. In practical terms, we sit somewhere between a branding agency, marketing agency and creative agency.

Who do you work with?

Brands making an impact choose us The visionaries, disruptors, game changers, and rule breakers. The ones asking the better questions, not just shouting the biggest answers. You don’t need to be saving the world (but we’re here for that, too). You just need to be trying to leave it a little better than you found it. So if that’s you, you’ll fit right in. Specifically, we have experience in the following sections: health and wellbeing, finance for good, art and culture, community services, not for profit, built environment, education, retail and ecommerce, FMCG.

Do you do ongoing marketing and design work?

Yep. For some clients, we stick around after the strategy or brand work and help keep things moving through content, campaigns, paid media, search and ongoing strategic support. For others, we do the big thinking, build the foundations and hand it over.

What should we budget?

As a guide, our ongoing marketing partnerships start from $5,000 a month, with clients generally investing at least $3,000 a month in media on top of that. For a full brand transformation — strategy, visual and verbal identity, and website — plan for a minimum investment of $15,000. If you're DIYing your website or taking that elsewhere, then we can wind it in to reflect that scope. Every brief is a little different, so the final scope depends on what you’re trying to achieve. But if you’re looking for a ballpark before getting in touch, that’s a good place to start.

What do you need to get started?

Bring us the business plan. And a fair idea of your goals, budget, and timeline. The rest of it we can unpack on an exploration call (that's half the fun anyway). Plus finding the best way to achieve your goals is firmly in our strategy wheelhouse and feeds nicely into branding and campaign work. Yew.
